From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311
BuildID: 2002031104

When clicking on a mail folder to display contents, Mozilla goes
into a hard loop and stops responding. I killed Mozilla, made a
backup copy of the file and corresponding .msf file in a different
location and then deleted the .msf file. After restarting, Mozilla
rebuilt the .msf file and did NOT loop. Everything appears normal.
I then stopped Mozilla, restored the original .msf file and restarted
Mozilla. Clicking on the folder causes the program to loop.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place the attached mail file and .msf in the proper place
2. Open Mozilla and attempt to view the folder contents
3.

Actual Results: 100% CPU loop, no response from Mozilla to keyboard or mouse
clicks.

Expected Results: Displayed the folder contents
dupe of bug 131599 ?
I tried to reproduce this using recent 1.2 nightly under windows 2000, but i
could not:

1.I downloaded the file and unpacked it
2. I placed them at C:\Documents and Settings\Henrik Lynggaard\Application
Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\5ezxmr56.slt\Mail\Local Folders

3. I started mozilla
4. I open mail/news and the Netfilter folder that appeared under Local Folders

5. The folder opened as any folder and everything worked

Reporter, mozilla 0.9.9 is getting pretty old, perhaps you could retest with a
more recent build ands let us know if this bug a gone for you too ?

I am having a similar problem with Netscape 7.0. While searching messages, the
.msf files for some folders (that were imported from 4.79) disappear, and the
searcher states it is creating the summary file.

It then goes into a 100% cpu loop.

If I then exit the search and mail, and restart mail, I can cause the .msf files
to rebuild by going to each affected folder.

But, when I try to search again, it all repeats. A real bummer.

I moved the folder with these messages to another folder, and it works OK.

When I moved the messaged back to the original location, the trouble resumed.

Any ideas?
