There's really only 2 things I'm aware of that we need to do in order to be able to run this funnelcake: 1) ensure we have sufficient telemetry. This is bug 1347271. Important note: I'm already aware that some (but not all!) of the suggestions from the top sites will manifest as 'autofill' options and be reported as such in telemetry. At this point, I'm not convinced we need to be able to differentiate them further - we either will or won't see a significant difference in the number of autofill results users choose to use, and that can be ascribed to the feature just like the number of people using the actual (other) items in the dropdown list itself. 2) update the list so it's appropriate for a funnelcake experiment in 54. I'll file a separate bug for this shortly. We hope to be able to use this funnelcake to ensure there's no net negative effects that we don't anticipate (ie to verify this has 0 or net-positive impact).

this project was stopped some time ago, the feature is still in the browser but should be rediscussed by PM.
