The previous sub-test deletes the files asynchronously when receiving "browser:purge-session-history", so I wonder whether this can occasionally take long enough to interfere with the following test? If I can't reproduce this locally and find some definitive evidence of what is going wrong, I'll probably try swapping the tests around so that test_sessionStoreClearFiles runs first and also temporarily enable session store debug logging on try.

Also to note that I did try to reproduce this on try with logging turned on, but with no luck so far: https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=70c2e49ac6b0b68d5fd0deaacf9360e528161b76
