Steps to reproduce:

Clicked the middle mouse button(the one under the scroll)


Actual results:

normally it should just open the selected link in new tab but now it open the link in the same tab and also in the new tab

Did you test with a fresh profile?

Yes i tried with a fresh profile .
also the same thing happens when i select some text and then i right click and click on search google for ""
it searches in the same tab and also in the new tab.

I have tested your issue on latest FF release (52.0.1) and latest Nightly build and could not reproduce it. For me the search and mouse middle click opens a new tab as expected. Could you retest using latest Nightly build (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and report back the results ? When doing this, please use a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even safe mode, to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause (https://goo.gl/PNe90E).

I have this same problem: clicking on a link, opens it in another tab as expected, but opening another link from the same page opens that second link both in a new tab and in the original tab.

Opening a link with middle button in another tab, changing to another tab and returning to the previous tab doesn't trigger this bug.
