User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0
Build ID: 20170317231433

Steps to reproduce:

I use Firefox for most of my browsing. So, a lot of tabs are always open. I hardly close FF. I just make my system sleep and resume from where I left the next time. I have seen sometimes after a few days of working, specifically video streaming sites like youtube.com stop working.

Actual results:

When they stop working, the sites open fine but the video playback never starts. The page loading also sometimes never completes. The console does not show any info. I tried disabling all plugins too but that doesn't help.

Expected results:

Its not that video streaming sites dont work from the beginning. I keep watching videos fine but all of a sudden they stop working as described. What I expect is no such discontinuation should happen.

Dan - could this be a cubeb issue?

Do you mean a cubeb-pulse-rs issue, or a cubeb issue in general? The issue was reported 3 months ago, so a long time before the rust backend was enabled in nightly.

With out repro steps, I can't answer for certain.

Let me know what details you need. I gave the repro steps and that is all I experience. If there is any specific debug info you need, let me know how I can provide that.

The pulse audio mixer will show you which streams are being played at any given moment. If the issue occurs again, can you look at the mixer to see if it creates an audio stream for the video that doesn't play?
