From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311 BuildID: 2002031115 In a previous version (version in RH7.2) when I specified an alternate port for an SMTP server (e.g., localhost:2121) I was able to send mail (I had port forwarded using ssh). But after I installed new Mozilla version (same SMTP settings), sending mail failed with message that connection to SMTP server failed. I know connection was OK because with same settings in KDE's KMail I was able to send mail OK. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Forward a port to some valid SMTP server 2 Edit>Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings 3.In Server Name edit box, enter name of server, colon, port number (e.g., localhost:2121) 4.Try to send a mail message. Actual Results: Error pop-up, unable to connect to SMTP server Expected Results: Succesful send.
this has already been addressed and you need a nightly build to use it there's now a seperate entry box for the port marking INVALID
