Crash Data

#89 crash signature Anything we can do about this even though it's IME? Not surprisingly, vast majority of crashes are using jp locale. bp-b9efb4b8-a2cd-4435-ae64-df8082170326. ============================================================= 0 imjpapi.dll CCmdPairingBrackets::TransformBracketsForCandidate(Comutil::comlist<IPhraseItem>&, unsigned long) 1 imjpapi.dll `DesktopLmdsTelemetry::Instance(void)'::`2'::`dynamic atexit destructor for 'wrapper''() 2 imjpapi.dll CCommandInvoker::Execute(_GUID const*) 3 imjpapi.dll CCmdUpdateContext::ExecuteWithParam(IImeEMManager*, long) 4 imjpapi.dll CCmdUpdateContext::Execute(IImeEMManager*) 5 imjpapi.dll CImeEMManager::Execute(_GUID const*) 6 imjpapi.dll CImeEMManager::EndBulkChange(int) 7 imjpapi.dll CImeEMManager::CallUpdateContext() 8 imjpapi.dll CImeCommonAPI_JPN_Desktop_V1::CallUpdateContext() 9 imjpapi.dll CImeKeyEventHandler_JPN_Desktop_V1::ProcessKey(__MIDL___MIDL_itf_imeapi_0000_0009_0001 const*, unsigned short) 10 imjpapi.dll CImeKeyEventHandler_JPN_Desktop_V1::OnKeyDown(__MIDL___MIDL_itf_imeapi_0000_0009_0001 const*, int*) 11 imetip.dll CTipFnKeyEventHandler::OnKeyDown(unsigned int, long, int*) 12 imetip.dll CTipContextEditorMgr::_OnKeyboardEvent(unsigned int, ITfContext*, unsigned int, long, int*, void*) 13 imetip.dll Tsfutil::CTfKeyEventSink::OnKeyDown(ITfContext*, unsigned int, long, int*) 14 msctf.dll CTip::OnKeyboardEvent(CInputContext*, KeyEventFlags, unsigned int, long, int*) 15 msctf.dll CThreadInputMgr::_CallKeyEventSink(unsigned long, CInputContext*, KeyEventFlags, unsigned int, long, int*) 16 msctf.dll CThreadInputMgr::_KeyStroke(KeyEventFlags, unsigned int, long, int*) 17 msctf.dll CThreadInputMgr::KeyDown(unsigned int, long, int*) 18 xul.dll mozilla::widget::TSFTextStore::ProcessRawKeyMessage(tagMSG const&) widget/windows/TSFTextStore.cpp:5528 19 xul.dll nsAppShell::ProcessNextNativeEvent(bool) widget/windows/nsAppShell.cpp:367 There is also @ imjpapi.dll@0x1101e6 Ø 0 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x1101e6 Ø 1 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0xcba27 Ø 2 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x2fb01 Ø 3 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x2db6e Ø 4 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x2ddd2 Ø 5 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x3348c Ø 6 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x33124 Ø 7 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x330c4 Ø 8 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x79604 Ø 9 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x75880 Ø 10 imjpapi.dll imjpapi.dll@0x74dd6 Ø 11 imetip.dll imetip.dll@0x2db99 Ø 12 imetip.dll imetip.dll@0x2a343 Ø 13 imetip.dll imetip.dll@0x29df4 Ø 14 msctf.dll msctf.dll@0x78ff6 Ø 15 msctf.dll msctf.dll@0x792b8 Ø 16 msctf.dll msctf.dll@0x62a1d Ø 17 msctf.dll msctf.dll@0x2f5ca 18 xul.dll mozilla::widget::TSFTextStore::ProcessRawKeyMessage(tagMSG const&) widget/windows/TSFTextStore.cpp:5528

(I didn't intend comment 1 for this bug)
Even If IMM on Windows 10, this occurs (bp-0c495349-24e7-45c8-a632-79f9a2170322).

crash rate has more than trippled since last comments, and ranks #30 for TB52.5.0, even though it is just one locale. 99% of users crash only once (in a week). For some reason only ~15% are firefox crashes. Found a firefox crash bp-90192fd3-f04f-4fe5-bf37-938ab0171119 who was using en-US and has a URL. :masayuki, are you able to see it?

Well, according to the stack, we cannot do anything since it's internal crash bug of MS-IME. Yoshida-san, is this a known bug? And can applications avoid this crash with some workaround?
Flags: needinfo?(masayuki) → needinfo?(kotaroy)
Other examples bug 1437375, Bug 1422594 :( No word from Microsoft?
