I'm more than a little surprised by this, but https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=3f9e70f53e3067168c14e09c0b238037e9c8a1f5&filter-classifiedState=unclassified&filter-resultStatus=testfailed&filter-resultStatus=busted&selectedJob=86491037 says that just changing the trunk version number from 55 to 56 like we will on 2017-04-17 is going to make browser_extension_update_background.js permanently time out.
