1351257 - writing-mode: vertical-lr in table cell does not take into account text's height (which would become cell's width)

When using writing-mode: vertical-lr on a table cell, the cell appears squished when there are no other cells in the same column which have non-zero width.

In the attached example, the first column is more or less ok, due to the X below, but the text of the second column is squished into the third.

Instead, the cell should always be wide enough to accommodate the height of the rotated text, even if nothing else in the column needs that width.

I tested with FF44 (just after the implementation of the property "writing-mode"), the issue is already here.

We have already many bug reports on orthogonal table cell inside an horizontal-tb table: bug 1165797, bug 1166120, bug 1244601 and presumably a few others too (bug 1077521) .

From your description ("the text of the second column is squished into the third") and from your test, I would say your test is a duplicate of

which is bug 1166120 .

So, at first sight, this seems like a DUPLICATE of bug 1166120 ... hm... but it could be a DUPLICATE of bug 1244601

I am resolving this bug as a DUPLICATE of bug 1166120 . When bug 1166120 gets fixed, we will check again how attachment 8852004 [details]  is rendered.
