1. Just start Mozilla Firefox Nightly 55.0a1 (2017-03-29)
2. and look on showing minimize/maximize/close buttons
3. They're missing, not hiding, as clicking/pressing that space doesn't do anything

Firefox looks good in today's build.
But in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1351668 Thunderbird Daily was also mentioned; and it was not fixed.
The latest Daily (31 March 2017) also was fixed.

Sorry, this was incorrect.
01 April 2017 build of Daily has that same flaw.

Will it be fixed or another bug report should be added to #1351668?

Open new bug, just for Thunderbird only,
and block this bug and bug #1344839.
