Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20170323105023 Steps to reproduce: I watch movies or old TV shows while playing free Flash games on various sites(for each purpose). I open two tabs, then move one to a new window, making a split-screen of my LCD monitor. At random time during the time I am doing this, Shockwave will crash, causing one or both operations to freeze. This usually forces me to open the task manager and force Firefox to close, because the freeze affects the entire window. Actual results: Game or video stream will freeze, occasionally I get a small window stating "a plugin has stopped working" and requests me to choose between stopping the plugin or continue running the plugin. Continuing ALWAYS results in a total freeze of Firefox, forcing me to use the task manager to force Firefox to close. I once left both Firefox windows running overnight while I slept to see if the problem would resolve itself. Seven hours later, it was still locked up when I woke up. Expected results: Up to about a month or so ago, I wasn't having issues trying to do this. I could watch my streaming videos of movies or old TV shows while playing free Flash games. I have been doing this for years, when bored or just wasting time.

When Firefox itself is hung, please use these instructions to intentionally crash it and collect dianostics: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/How_to_report_a_hung_Firefox This won't tell us why the plugin is crashing, but it will tell us why normal plugin crash recovery isn't working so that we can get plugin crash stacks.

Updating to the latest version of Flash may fix the issue. The latest version of the Flash plugin should perform better. To check if Flash is up to date, visit Adobe's test page. If it says you have an outdated version of Flash, install the latest version manually. Updating to the latest version of Flash may fix the issue.
