Steps to reproduce:

I updated from 45.8.0 to 52.0 (Windows, English US). I clicked links in messages, which links opened in 45.8.0.

I also tried right-clicking and selecting "Open Link in Browser."

I have the "Open With" extension and tried the browsers lists.


Actual results:

The links did not open except when I selected using "Open With."


Expected results:

The links should have opened.

I rolled back to 45.8.0. When clicking the links, 45.8.0 prompted me to select which browser to open. I selected the default (Firefox) and to remember my selection.

Options > Attachments properly reflected my choices: http and https.

I then updated again to 52.0. The links would not open. Options > Attachments properly still reflected my earlier choices.

I also tried 52.0 in safe mode. The links still would not open.

See bug 1354007 comment #8. Do the steps given at the end of that comment fix the problem?
