The faces view looks a lot like search but with some unexpected behavior. Could we introduce some context in the template to set it up as a flash-card alike?
I'm not sure I understand. Are you asking for the Faces search to show more than "just faces"?

Every other view frames the content on the page in a pane or panel like element. The faces view looks like a bug because it displays content directly on the blue field instead of framing.
The indicators that you've switched to a new 'faces' mode are subtle -- a highlighted UI element and a change in the url. Adding a containing element with a field (like the vcard or treeview) and some header text noting that it's a flash card alike would be helpful for people who errantly click on 'faces'

Merge pull request #82 from floatingatoll/bug1354301
add footer links to cards/faces pages to permit easy swapping [#1354301]
I ended up going with a search results a footer link on the Cards and Faces results that offers users a toggle between Cards/Faces, so that accidental Faces searchers can find their way back to Cards. It'll probably end up promoting awareness of the Faces feature by integrating it cleanly with normal search results as well, which is also fine.
This will be deployed someday as part of a large batch of fixes, and I'll report back when it is.
