Use nightly to set up a Talky.io video chat with chrome. There is no video in chrome. I can reproduce the bugs on MacOS and Fennec.
I can reproduce on MacOS as well.

So this is actually a Chrome bug. And BTW the same issue as reported here https://github.com/webrtc/apprtc/issues/432 Firefox offers a RTP header extension as 'sendonly', but Chrome answers with 'sendrecv' which is not allowed.
The stricter checking added in bug 1353028 causes this. Now the big question is: how quickly can we get the Chrome guys to fix this on their end?
Note: this will affect pretty much any call between Chrome and Firefox w/o a terminating SFU in between.
Summary: Talky.io video chat with chrome is broken in nightly → Fx 55 enforcing correct extmap direction causes call failures with Chrome
I'll put up a patch to disable our checking of the directions, so it is ready to land on Friday or weekend, in case we haven't heard anything from Google until then in their bugtracker https://bugs.chromium.org/p/webrtc/issues/detail?id=7477
