I have a problem with Firefox ESR 45. It also happens in Beta 52, Beta 53, Nightly 55.
Sometimes additional space appears in tab strip after pinned tabs. Here's how to reproduce the bug :
1. In maximized Firefox window, pin a tab.
2. Make sure that tab strip is scrollable.
3. Resize the window.
Result: Empty space appears after pinned tabs.
Expected: There should be no space after the pinned tabs.
Severity: normal → trivial
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW

I has reproduce this issue in Firefox 54.0.1 on Win10.
In addition, the blank before pinned tabs is unnecessary too for compact themes (non-curved tabs), and always appear.

I believe this isn't an issue anymore as of Firefox 57.
