Tony, did you experience this crash yourself, and/or do you have specific steps to reproduce it?

This is a generic crash signature in Flash and so without specific steps to reproduce we probably can't do much about it.

Greetings,

When I booted up my laptop this morning, Firefox executed a background update. A pop-up screen appeared with the message "The update could not be installed (patch apply failed)". I then tried to manually update Firefox with the latest version. The pop-up box again was the result. Can't recall ever having this issue in the past.

Thanks,

Tony c

This bug report about a crash doesn't have much to do with that update dialog. You're welcome to file that bug separately in "Toolkit"->"Application Update".

How did you experience the Flash plugin crash?

Don't know if yesterday's issue was a fluke, but today I see that I am at Ver. 53.0. So sometime yesterday the update worked.
