Steps to reproduce:
1. Press on any input box at any website, try on bugzilla for example.
2. Try to delete any item on the dropdown using the DELETE key. The dropdown will go away.
3. Press that input box, or any other, and check that the item you tried to delete is still present.

When I say "any input box" is an input box that allows a dropdown menu with a history of words that were typed. I'm not very familiar with the terminology.

Hi and thanks for your report!

I tried to reproduce the issue you described following the provided steps to reproduce using Windows 10 x64 on latest Nightly 55.0a1 (25-04-2017) and Release 53.0 builds but without success.
I was able to clear all the items from the dropdowns of the input boxes using the Delete key on the following websites: Bugzilla, CNN and Reddit.

Can you please update Nightly to the latest version (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and see if the issue still reproduces? When doing this, please use a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even safe mode, to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause (https://goo.gl/AR5o9d).

Thanks for answering, but I'm still having this issue even on a new profile with no addons and no tweaks whatsoever. I'm using the latest Nightly 55.0a1 (20170426030329).

Also discovered that the delete key doesn't clear items (websites) from the address bar's dropdown.

Apparently I can delete stuff if I continuously press right click on an item and then hit the delete key. Before this issue, I wouldn't need to press right click at all after the dropdown appears since I could just hover an item and press the delete key.
