Trying to install protozilla to access telnet:// links results in a crash when the tools > protozilla dialog is brought up... with this message.. root@lt3:~# moz Protozilla: Registering self Protozilla: moduleFile=/usr/local/mozilla/components/protozilla.js Protozilla: registryLocation=rel:protozilla.js Protozilla: componentType=text/javascript ipcService=[xpconnect wrapped nsIIPCService] Protozilla: Registering bundled protocol moz Protozilla: Registering bundled protocol freenet Protozilla: Starting server /root/.mozilla/root/txpaqmc4.slt/protozilla/protocol/foo/server.pl Protozilla: GetCommandLine: /root/.mozilla/root/txpaqmc4.slt/protozilla/protocol/foo/server.pl /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla-bin: relocation error: /usr/local/mozilla/components/libipc.so: undefined symbol: ReplaceChar__9nsCStringUsUs root@lt3:~# Access to telnet:// is a must have for 1.0 Any thoughts on making access to telnet:// avialable in a large NFS network? Currently protozilla needs to be installed by the user. Which doesn't work in a two thousand user Solaris network.

This sounds like the protozilla libraries are using an old version of an API that has changed....
You are probably using a different compiler or mozilla build to the one protozilla was compiled against. In any event, if compiling it yourself doesn't help (or you have compile issues), then report it as a bug at http://mozdev.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=protozilla This isn't a mozilla bug; -> invalid. I can't think of a reason that you couldn't ship protozilla already installed with any mozilla binaries you ship to your users, but I've never used protozilla - try asking in their bug system.

Please reopen and think on this more deeply. Im trying to enable basic functionality that is available in Netscape 4 and IE and then Mozilla crashed. If this is a protozilla issue then please coordinate with them to fix. Putting the onus on me to contact the protozilla folks and drive the issue doesn't seem like mozilla is serious about fixing issues prior to 1.0 Thank you,

Hmmm, why is it always Mozilla's fault? If you install XFree86, and install a separate program to run on top of XFree86 called Mozilla and Mozilla makes XFree86 crash/hang, people file a bug on Mozilla. If you install Mozilla, and install a separate program to run on top of Mozilla called Protozilla and Prototzilla makes Mozilla crash/hang.... I don't see this bug so there is no way for me to coordinate anything with anyone. Not to sound harsh, but you have the bug, you coordinate with them. Anyway, please note that Protozilla has binaries for milestones ONLY. Specifically, they say: Protozilla has only been tested with milestone releases of Mozilla. If you use a daily build (or your own build) of Mozilla, Protozilla may not work and may even crash your build! (http://protozilla.mozdev.org/download.html) You are using a nightly. You get what you get. -->INVALID.
