Details

We ship blocklist dumps in the release (Bug 1224528).

When the blocklist is updated, a dump is written in profile. 

Currently when the content in profile is invalid, we don't load anything at all.

While switching the blocklist system from XML to JSON (Bug 1257565) we realized that we could fallback to the release dumps instead of giving up.

We don't have those JSON dumps anymore. The blocklist now relies on Remote Settings
