Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Build ID: 20170429030208 Steps to reproduce: 1) in fennec I long tap a play store link, like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Penarium.app&hl=en 2) I can choose item "open with play store app" to load the page Actual results: I have to long tap *everytime* and choose "open with play store app" item. Moreover I also have to keep paying attention to the link: I try to understand if it is a play store link, and then long tap. Sometimes I forgot so I tap the link, and fennec open the web page, so I have to go back, then long tap the link, and choose to open in the app instead. it's highly annoying! Expected results: The first time I choose item "open with play store app" fennec should ask if I want to make it the default action, and then never ask me again: when I tap on a play store link fennec must open directly the play store app (note: I'm talking about a normal tap, not a long tap)

There's no need to go back - there should be an Android icon in the address bar that you can tap to lauch the associated app.

thanks for your suggestion: the icon is there, but why should I have to waste my *limited data plan* by first loading the page, and then the app? I just want to load the app by default (also loading the entire web page is much slower than loading the app)

For http/https resources Firefox is a browser I don't think we will ever launch such resources by default. If the website wants to direct you to an app they can via an intent: uri. There is an extension that provides the behavior you want for ALL uris at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/i-love-apps/
