This is from the webextensions-examples issue tracker: https://github.com/mdn/webextensions-examples/issues/214. Some add-ons define options pages, and those options pages include checkboxes. In Firefox 55, the checkboxes are not displayed. In Firefox 54, they work fine. Example: https://github.com/mdn/webextensions-examples/tree/master/forget-it. I don't know if this is a problem for all add-ons that include checkboxes in options pages, or only some. This seems like it might be related to bug 1354336.
