Steps to reproduce:

Since I use the setting to Clear Private Data every time Firefox closes, I have to log in to Pocket every time I open the browser. This is a bit tiring and unsavory from a use of ease standpoint.

Expected results:

What should happen: Since Mozilla has purchased Pocket, any user who has their Pocket account tied to their Firefox account, and has both active on their browser, should be automatically logged in to Firefox's integration of Pocket. Clearing private data should have no affect on the logged in status of the Pocket integration. If anything, give users a choice to link or unlink their Firefox account from Pocket.

Why? Just because someone uses Firefox doesn't mean they use Pocket. I tried Pocket, so I have an account, but I couldn't get it to work, so I have no use for the account.
I too find Firefox' behaviour in this regard completely unintuitive and, frankly, annoying. Especially given the fact that Firefox is advertised with its "tight" integration with Pocket.

This bug has been closed due to inactivity and/or the potential for this bug to no longer be an issue with the new Discovery Stream-powered New Tab experience, and improvements to Pocket’s integration with Firefox.

Please help us triage by reopening if this issue still persists and should be addressed.

Jessilyn Davis what do you mean by "Discovery Stream-powered New Tab experience, and improvements to Pocket’s integration with Firefox."?

The issue still exists in FIrefox 73.0.1
