From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020405 BuildID: 2002040503 When starting a file download, a progress window pops up containing buttons "cancel", "pause", "launch file" and "show file location". The last two are disabled until download completes. I'd like to see both of those buttons enabled always and if user clicks them the progress window would be hidden and action would be completed after download completes. User could be displayed a dialog explaining this and that dialog must have "do not show this window again" option.
if you click a button, you expect something to happen. if you click "launch" and 20 minutes later an unknown application starts running, that would be very confusing both at the time of clicking, and also when it launched. having asked on #mozillazine, folks around at the time of writing agreed. the new download manager gives better control over this kind of stuff...
