Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0 Build ID: 20170413192749 Steps to reproduce: I have replied to an email. Same problem when forwarding an email. Actual results: The Thunderbird default text for seperating my own message from the original message ignores my default font settings (the text within the div-tags with class "moz-cite-prefix" or "moz-forward-container"). Expected results: Thunderbird should insert a font-tag with my default font face and size within the mentioned div-tags. Perhaps, there should also be an p-tag and not only a br-tag when using paragraph mode which is the current default mode for composing emails.

I'm also experiencing this same issue and not only that, but when I display one of my replies it's in a sans serif font despite my having set the display font as Times New Roman size 14. There are clearly some serious editing and display font issues with this current version of Thunderbird. See also my bug 606668, which is now 10 years old. At one point, this problem got dealt with but with version 68 of the program, it has returned.

This continues to be an issue in 78.4.0. Replies and Forwards do not honor the Font settings for composition.
