When I have "Keep Cookies: I Close Nightly" set in about:preferences or network.cookie.lifetimePolicy=2 the browser will delete my cookies on update. Whilst users who set this as their cookie policy would probably prefer privacy, we also are risking they won't update regularly.

I am wondering if this bug is still valid or if it needs updating? We removed the network.cookie.lifetimePolicy in fx104, see Bug 1681493 - [meta] Deprecate and remove network.cookie.lifetimePolicy

Hmm, I think this might still be a potential issue with the "Delete cookies and site data when Nightly is closed" pref (privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown
/ privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies
? Sanitizer.sys.mjs
doesn't seem to handle updates / restarts in any explicit way but I may be missing something. Hopefully others will have more context here... or someone will need to dig deeper or test this manually.
