While documenting the 'grey background' to the URL and Search Bars,
in Bug 1366276 "Grey background to URL and Search Bar, Nightly 55.0a1 (2017-05-17), on Windows 7 using
"Windows Classic" theme"
(which has been fixed in Bug 1366278 - thanks to Dão Gottwald).
I have noticed that the font used in the URL and Search Bars, was made larger,
in the 2017-05-19 Nightly build.
I don't know if this is deliberate, I prefer the smaller size.
I also don't know if this issue is specific to Microsoft's "Windows Classic" theme
that I, and my Users, use on Windows 7.
Using ESR, Release, Beta and Nightly;
I have made a series of screenshots from the 'First Run' in a New Profile for each of these.
The font was the same size as the Menu and the 'Tab Titles', since 2017-05-19, it has become larger.
I will now attach screenshots.

ESR 52.1.2 (32 bit) on Windows 7 using "Windows Classic" theme, First Run (on 2017-05-20).
Note: the 'Tab Titles', the URL bar and the Search bar (as well as the Menus) are all the same size of
font.

Release 53.0.3 (32 bit) on Windows 7 using "Windows Classic" theme, First Run (on 2017-05-20).
Note: the 'Tab Titles', the URL bar and the Search bar (as well as the Menus) are all the same size of font.
DevEd 54.0b7 Build ID 20170516125120 64 bit (en-GB) on Windows 7 using "Windows Classic" theme, First Run
(on 2017-05-20).
Note: the 'Tab Titles', the URL bar and the Search bar (as well as the Menus) are all the same size of
font.

The about:support page
Again, all the fonts are the same size except for the URL bar.
Using about:addons to change theme (to show the dark text): all the fonts are the same size (except for the URL and Search bars).
Nightly 55.0a1 Build ID 20170520030204 64 bit on Windows 7 using "Windows Classic" theme, First Run (on 2017-05-20).
Note: the font size for the URL bar and the Search bar is bigger.
The 'Tab Titles', Menus and the "Choose What I Share" button are the 'normal size', like we had
until 2017-05-19.
See also this screenshot "Windows-Nightly-x64-2017-05-18-First-Run-on-New-Profile.png".

Where the font is the 'normal smaller size' (but there is a grey background)
on Nightly built on 18th May.
The about:support page for 2017-05-20, again the fonts are larger in the URL and Search bars.
Nightly 2017-05-20, again the fonts are larger for URL and Search bars.
As I said in comment # 0, I don't know if this is deliberate, I prefer the smaller size.
I also don't know if this issue is specific to Microsoft's "Windows Classic" theme.

Corrections: to the comments about some of the 54 screenshots.
In comment # 5 I said:
> Again, all the fonts are the same size except for the URL bar.
Should have said: "Again, all the fonts are the same size."
In comment # 6 I said:
> Using about:addons to change theme (to show the dark text): all the fonts are the
> same size (except for the URL and Search bars).
Should have said:
"Using about:addons to change theme (to show the dark text): all the fonts are the
same size."
I only installed and included 54 to see if I could find a recent change.
I normally use ESR 32bit (to replicate my User's view) or Nightly 64bit (to
see what is coming - and to make sure we are ready for the changes).
All my, and my Users, 'real Profiles' have several Extensions:
including NoScript, RequestPolicy Continued and Classic Theme Restorer (CTR).
The main use for CTR is to have the 'active Tab' coloured.
We use several Profiles, specific to each purpose.
For example a Profile 'just for web email', another for general browsing
another 'just for Bank': each has a different colour on the 'active tab'
to remind the User 'which Profile they are using'.
All are started from 'shortcuts' that include the full path to the Profile
and the "-no-remote" switch.
I have posted 'First Run' screenshots because:
A. It should be easy to replicate and
B. This will eliminate any 'custom config' introduced by e.g. Classic Theme Restorer
(or any other Extension).
Summary:
As I said in comment # 0, I don't know if this is deliberate, I prefer the smaller size.
I also don't know if this issue is specific to Microsoft's "Windows Classic" theme.
It seems to me that it would be better if the *same* size was used for the
'Tab Titles', Menus (not shown in any of these 'First Run' screenshots) as well
as the URL Bar and Search Bar. Having the URL and Search bars 'with a larger font'
than the other items, looks odd.
Compare:
https://bug1365789.bmoattachments.org/attachment.cgi?id=8869075
2017-05-18 (uniform font size) [but a grey background, which was fixed in Bug 1366278].
With:
https://bug1366519.bmoattachments.org/attachment.cgi?id=8869770
2017-05-20 (larger fonts in the URL and Search bars).
