Steps to reproduce:

Execute cleanup in Firefox developer edition 54.0a2 (2017-04-18) (64-Bit).
(in german it's called "Firefox bereinigen..." on the about:support page)


Actual results:

After the cleanup the default profile of the regular Firefox installation 53.0.3 (64-Bit) was switched to the dev-edition-default profile.


Expected results:

The default profile of the regular Firefox installation should not have been modified.

I don't think I touched (or even tried, to be frank) the Refresh/Reset button when I worked on this. I'm not even sure how this part works now after the recent changes to Developer Edition. I think I heard Tom was working on that, so he may know more.

I was working on this briefly, but not any more (and in the end my patches weren't needed, so I
don't know much about it now).

Sounds like a bug.  But I'm not sure exactly who owns this, I would have assumed platform.  Tom was doing some different work related to this.

I think by removing the "specialness" of dev-edition this might be fixed (or become easy to fix) once bug 1474285 lands.
