The link to Firefox marketing pages from the top navigation on https://blog.mozilla.org has two issues:
1) It doesn't use a Firefox logo; instead it uses a different logo. Shouldn't it use a Firefox logo?
2) It points to /firefox/products/, which has been decommissioned. We should change it to point at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/

When we create the link from top nav to /firefox/, we should also include UTM parameters. Here is the full link we should use:
https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/?utm_source=blog.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=blog-nav

The "Discover Firefox" link in the upper right of the blog does now point to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/ albeit without UTM parameters as per comment 1. Craig would you be ok with modifying that URL to match comment 1? Also, do you have any thoughts about the logo?

I can update the link and replace the icon with the standard logo glyph. There was a design decision at the time to use a different icon but I can't recall the reasoning.

Hey Eric,
Per our convo, we'd like to modify the ask in this bug. The new ask --- replace the 'discover firefox' link with a green Download Firefox button (sample attached). This already exists in the /firefox blog
A few other requirements:
1) link the dl button to /new
2) use proper UTM params so we can monitor traffic by blog/by post (hoosteno can supply, pls need info him when ready)

We've confirmed with two blog owners, so far that this change can be made on their blogs. Can we start there?

Craig -
In the follow blogs:
https://blog.mozilla.org/internetcitizen/
https://blog.mozilla.org/
Please duplicate the upper right nav (add big green download button in place of Firefox logo and copy in far right) exactly as seen on https://blog.mozilla.org/firefox/

Because this is a shared theme and some sites using it may not want such a prominent button (it might not be appropriate on /netpolicy for example) I've made it a theme option so each blog can choose either the default "discover Firefox" link (with updated logo glyph) that points to /firefox/ or the green button that points to /firefox/new/.
I've pushed this live and activated the button on the main blog and Internet Citizen. The button itself is also updated to the newer style we're using on mozilla.org, pill shaped and a brighter green.

Thanks, Craig.
Can you share some instructions so we can tell the individual blog owners how they can activate it for their blogs?

Under Appearance > Customize > Theme Options there's a checkbox to toggle the button.
Only blog administrators have access to change themes so not everyone will be able see that menu. If any other blogs using this theme should have a button and nobody has sufficient permissions we can make sure the respective owner has admin rights.
