If it's intended, how about making that new space as the "Dropdown area" (etc.) button, like for example a small separator, so users could customize their browser like they want and hide it.

It looks like you're using maximized windows. Bug 1369786 should fix this then.

P.S. There is no need to create a new bug and mark old one as duplicate, because it could be tracked in old one.

I filed the other bug and then realized that your screenshots show maximized windows. I marked this as a duplicate of the other since the latter was more specific.

Taking precious screen space and don't need it.

The plan is to add a pref. However, note that we removed more drag space from the top than we added on the side.

Yeah noticed it too and it looks great and thankful for that :) but want to remove that additional space too as it's of little use but takes space all the time want to disable it too in addition of top drag space, asked for option or pref for people who need it and if were 1px in size or maybe 2px it would have been enough but current one looks too much.

#TabsToolbar { padding-inline-start: 0px !important; } using this but want an option to disable it without adding drag space elsewhere or you can make the drag space 2px or size of pinned tab which would be enough like in the mock-ups

The goal is to match the mockups, i.e. eventually this should have the width of pinned tabs.
