Actual results: The target address book is highlighted, but the contact is neither moved nor copied. Expected results: The contact should have moved to the new address book.

This generally works, but there are cases where is doesn't. Sadly the address book isn't TB's best feature. Does this happen with all address books?

I have three address books: Personal, Collected, and northfolk. Personal and Collected are native, northfolk is WebDAV. I am not able to move or copy a contact from any address book to any address book.

I am having the same issue with Thunderbird 52.4.0 in Debian stable. I am sure moving contacts between address books like this did work at some point in time earlier (but can't say when I last did this and what Thunderbird version that was).

(In reply to Michael Weghorn from comment #3) > I am having the same issue with Thunderbird 52.4.0 in Debian stable. I am > sure moving contacts between address books like this did work at some point > in time earlier (but can't say when I last did this and what Thunderbird > version that was). It turned out that the extension "Inverse SOGo Connector" was causing the problem in my case. When starting Thunderbird in Safe Mode, moving contacts worked as expected. After upgrading the SOGo Connector extension from version 31.0.3 to the current version 31.0.5, moving contacts works again with the add-on enabled as well. @Chris: Could you try whether the problem goes away for you if you start Thunderbird in Safe Mode? This will help to narrow down the cause of the problem.

I can confirm that starting in safe mode, or more specifically disabling Inverse SOGo Connector, restores being able to move contacts between addressbooks. This is with Thunderbird 52.4.0 and Inverse SOGo Connector 31.0.2.

Upgrading SOGo Connector to 31.0.5 resolves the problem completely.
