This is the first step of Bug 1314793 - Creating Testing Framework for Proxy Bypasses for Fennec.

We'll create a VPNService App that works on the emulator that intercepts all traffic from Fennec.

Fennec will talk to a SOCKS proxy server such as http://www.inet.no/dante/, a simple SOCKS server one can run.

The VPN Service app will log on any traffic that does not go to the proxy server.
