User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 Build ID: 20170608105825 Steps to reproduce: Run FF as per usual (except not reproducible!) Actual results: Message bar indicates that add-ns have been disabled, but the add-ons manager simply shows "The following add-ons have been disabled ... etc."- but there is no list. I have seen this a number of times before, but I have just ignored it. When it happened just now, again a blank list, except that 2 or 3 minutes later it showed an item (something about telemetry), but trying to reproduce this fails. I have no add-on with 'telemetry' in the title (searching my add-ons), nor does anything similar item appear in the "All add-ons" list, nor is there a disabled item in the add-ons list that I do not recognize. Sorry, but this is unsatisfactory in several respects, but it is (a) recurrent - the blank list, and (b) not invokable to order, (c) not reproducible. Expected results: Simply a prompt indication of which add-on has been disabled. What is missing is a way to recall any such message, and see exactly what has been done.

I should have said, "Follow-on Search Telemetry" does NOT appear in my list of extensions in Add-ons Manager - there is nothing in the list between "Flashblock" and "Gecko Profiler".
it's a system add-on, and it won't be listed. Standard8, any idea why the message appears?

Sorry I'm having a little trouble following this bug - is the problem here that some of the built-in hidden add-ons showed up in an about:addons screen, specifically the one that shows automatically-disabled add-ons?

I think you have it right. Nutshell: I have occasionally seen a banner announcing that some add-ons have been disabled, but there is nothing generally listed on the information page that is linked. It transpires that on the last occasion (at least) it was "Follow-on Search Telemetry" that was involved because after a few minutes this name appeared on that info. page. (The delay is a puzzle, too. Seeing nothing, I would ordinarily close the page and move on.) However, there was no indication subsequently that anything was disabled, and most especially "Follow-on Search Telemetry" was not since the about:support listing indicated that it was active. The point is why does this warning appear? Why should a hidden add-on be announced in this fashion anyway? But there must be an underlying problem that triggers the event somehow, although I have no idea what that might be. It is a very rare event, so the chances of me being able to catch anything informative are very slight, unless there is some automatic logging of such events somewhere (or if not perhaps there should be?). I hope that is clear, but if not you will say ...

Thank for the information. I wonder if about:addons was open and there was an update happening in the background, which would make me think of bug 1367800 ... If you can make it happen again, or can grab a screenshot, that would be helpful. As it is I am having trouble reproducing.

about:addons was probably open, and now that you mention it it may well have been a restart after updating. The difference from 1367800 is that a banner notice appeared and it concerned a disabled item, but the parallel is clear. I know of no way to trigger this, so I'll see what happens at the next update, and if I can get a screenshot I'll post it.
