User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0 Build ID: 20170518000419 Steps to reproduce: Want to be able to reply to emails within the original email. Do Inline replies where my initials would come up and then i can type my reply/comments. example: <SL> i think you should do this Actual results: Very inconvenient as i have to type everything in and not able to conveniently reply within someone's email. Expected results: After clicking in reply, and when I scroll down to the part of the original email content I want to add comments to, it does this example: <SL> i think you should do this simialr to outlook
I think the add-on "Conversations", https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/gmail-conversation-view/, offers a "Quick Reply" option.
> Very inconvenient as i have to type everything in and not able to > conveniently reply within someone's email. I don't get that part. You can add your reply within the quote rather easily: 1) place the cursor at the end of the last line of the quote after which you want to add a reply; 2) hit Enter/Return on your keyboard; 3) the quote is now split and you can add your text between the quote blocks. So, the only difference is that no initials are added to the reply text (which rather should be the purpose of an extension as provided).
