User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20170607123825 Steps to reproduce: For problem referred to bug #1373363 I installed firefox ESR 52.0.2 over FIREFOX ESR 52.2.0 and checked "do not search for update" Actual results: After a while (I suspect reboot), firefox upgrade to latest version Expected results: Firefox should NOT upgrade to latest version

If the pref was changed after the download started the download will continue. Could you try to reproduce and only use a profile that6 already has it set to not update? Thanks!

If I say to firefox to NOT update, it should NOT upgrade, even if the download started.
It isn't irrelevant and if that is what happens this is a duplicate of an already filed bug for that issue.

Fixed observed in Firefox 69. It throws away the download when you turn off check for updates now. Downgrading is still a pain.
