I fit the whole description into the subject line!! :-) I'm not sure if anything can be done until 1.4 ships with Netscape but thought I'd record it. This crashes both standalone and embedded browsers.

I think this is old well-known problem with fphover applet - nothing can be done on mozilla side - see bug 57372 for details. The only thing that confuse me is that platform here is "Windows 2000" and before crash was mostly reported was for linux. Are there any log files created? On linux jvm often creates hs_*.log files with crash stack trace - i am not quite sure whenever they are created on windows. But i guess you can search your harddrive ;)
Bug is in <mozilla install di>\plugins\NPOJI600.dll If file is version 1.3.1_02, browser crashes. Clear java cache, work first time, then crashes again. If file is version 1.3.1 or older, browser works everytime. All other java plugin files (NPjava32.DLL, NPjava131_02.DLL, NPjava12.DLL, NPjava11.DLL) can be version 1.3.1_02
