User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0
Build ID: 20170628075643

Steps to reproduce:

Version 52.2.1 (Mac)

[fyi: IMAP]

In previous versions it was impossible to change or move the Junk folder (except in Account->Junk Settings). IMHO, this was correct behavior.

Now, in the folder pane , you can rename and/or move the Junk folder.

Actual results:

I'm often accidentally moving the Junk folder into into other existing folders.

Can I fix this behavior from user-land? Or do I need to wait for someone to bring back
the old, desirable, sensible behavior?

Expected results:

The junk folder should be unmovable and un-renameable (except from Junk Settings).

Does your junk folder in the folder pane have the flame icon?
If it doesn't, then Thunderbird doesn't think it is *the* Junk folder.

It does indeed have the flame icon. In fact, if I delete the Junk folder from the folder pane and
then re-create it from [imap-acct-name]->{delete,new}, the "new" Junk folder retains the flame icon.

Yes. The above image sequence was created in safe mode.

Do you are using the delete key?
Is "delete" offered if you use the context menu on Junk folder?

Jeff indicates "delete" is offered in the context menu.

I have no idea what would be causing this.
