It's not clear to me what this bug is saying exactly.

Do you want the push notification?
Or do you get it now and you don't want it?
Might be easier to explain on IRC / Slack

Sorry, I don't want to get a notification. But as Kit noted, and as Stefan told me, this will be fixed server side.
