From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:0.9.9+)
Gecko/20020417
BuildID: 2002041710

I have spent the last day browsing web pages with large amounts
of content and large background images. It seems to me that
the Mozilla browser is not able to handle these web pages.
Lets try Directron.com, its almost unbrowsable. Its more
complicated than a simple bug. The more the browser comes
closer to the 1.0 version, the worst it is getting to browse
pages with large amounts of content. This problem occurs on
the Windows versions, not on Linux. I tested the first 0.6
versions, and those version actually work better than the 0.9
versions, for browsing the web sites. The browser has
become heavier and is as not a light as its earlier builds.

So, I just tried the above URL, and wasn't able to spot any glaring problems. Is
there a specific set of operations that are slow? (I tried loading the page,
wandering around the site a bit, etc.)
With 2002041711/RC1build/Win2K is scrolling very slow (in comparing with another
sites, P950Mhz/512MB). Problem should be in background image
<http://us.st7.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/directron_1679_1557253> or in
incorrect HTML (many errors).
It may very well be in the background image. But you have to consider that
most web sites on the Internet have hundreds of errors and large gif
backgrounds. The original Netscape 6,nor 4 versions, did behave like this
towards these web pages. It has gotten to the point where I swith back and
forth from Mozilla to IE to be able to browse these web sites.
I meant the original Netscape 6, nor 4 versions did NOT behave like this
towards these web sites.
I noticed a bug on Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 (works on OS/2) where
nothing seems to appear on the screen for a long time. The time listed at the
bottom of the screen isn't any longer than previous drivers but the gui appears
blocked for long periods. I have a large text testcase that takes 20 seconds to
display. Currently, it does not show anything at my screen for over 10 seconds.
In earlier verions of the product including 6.2.2 it takes 24 seconds to finish
but show up on the screen in a second or two. Something has happened during
0.9.9 that has screwed this up for windows. If this isn't the same problem
a new bug should be created for the problem.

I'll back this up.

Moz is signifigantly more 'ganky' on this page than IE. If I grab the scroll
bar and move it rapidly, there are visible delays (100-250ms) as it attempts
to keep up with me.

Thanks for seeing my point of view. This is the only thing that keeps me from using
Mozilla 100 percent of the time. I hate having to switch back and forth to other
browsers to be able to browse these websites properly. Currently the original
Netscape 6, 4, Opera, nor IE, have any problems with such websites. Just the
newer Mozilla builds. So it cannot be the HTML coding.
Here is another website that is unbrowsable. It seems to have the tilled
background as well, in case Directron.com is not convincing enough.

I could not pass this example up. The browser gets so bloated down it that it
crashes.

Hate to admit it, but I believe this bug has been fixed in the latest nightly build.
