Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020313 BuildID: 2002031312 When reading news, some threads appear ABOVE their first article (the one containing the thread icon and the expandable wedge) instead of directly below it. The message hierarchy icons even indicate that it is in the wrong place; they are clearly intended to be children but there is nothing above them. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Read news (when there is some substantial amount of news available). 2. Simply do a normal reading session. In my case all the groups were threadded and had read unread set. I was using shift-control-C to clear the old group and space twice to get to the next newsgroup. 3. Pay attention to the appearance of the threads. Actual Results: Sometimes threadded messages appear ABOVE their first message, rather than directly below them. Expected Results: Threadded messages should appear below as expected. Seems quite reproducible, but does not happen every time. During one newsreading session, I saw four instances of this bug in the first five groups I read (with medium to low traffic).

Can you still reproduce this? It may be a problem with the news server, and not mozilla. It might be giving the wrong ids.
