By default, phishing protection uses Google Safe Browsing. This is a problem for people who care about privacy or who want a Google-free internet experience. However, it is nonetheless important to keep some phishing protection. One alternative solution is to use the existing good community-driven phishing URL lists. Furthermore, Mozilla develops and operates a server for handling such lists (shavar.services.mozilla.com). Consequently, a nice feature would be to add a phishing url list on shavar.services.mozilla.com.

Mozilla is unlikely to devote resources to maintaining its own phishing list. The server we load the data from is changeable via a pref though, so maybe someone could operate a community-sourced server elsewhere.
