Created attachment 8888589 [details] Screenshot_2017-07-20-19-42-03.png User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0 Build ID: 20170720100136 Steps to reproduce: 1. Enter reader view 2. Scroll up Actual results: After scrolling up, android icons except battery and clock disappear (see 2nd screen shot). Expected results: All android icons should have been displayed (1st screenshot is before scrolling). This happens in stable 54, beta 55, and nightly 56. I run with Firefox fullscreen browsing off because I want to always see the toolbar. The bug is still present if I turn fullscreen browsing on. I also use Dark Blue lightweight theme to make tab text a little brighter. The bug is still present if I disable the addon. I'm running Android 5.1 on a Verizon Ellipsis 10 tablet with Verizon's software update IR7_20C63.
I just noticed that scrolling down causes the icons to reappear; scrollin up again causes them to disappear again.
Just to be clear, when I say scroll up, I mean toward the bottom of the page; scroll down is toward the top of the page. I think of it that way because I move my stylus up to go toward the bottom, etc.
I just noticed that in addition to icons at the top of the screen disappearing, the android back button, etc. disappear from the bottom of the screen.
I can confirm scrolling up on both Android O (8.0.0) and Android 7.1.2 makes the icons disappear. On my two devices the buttons do not disappear from the bottom of the screen (likely this will depend on your phone or tablet). Is this is a regression or something new that you just noticed?
I just noticed it. It also happens with stable 54 and beta 55, so I don't know how long it's been present.
It's been that way since bug 960159, i.e. Firefox 29.
Hi Jack. I think it's our design. Maybe we should keep it as is.
For my point of view, to provide better reading experience and reduce reading disturbance, so I agree with keeping current design. I believe our designer did the research about what users care or what information is important when reading, so only keep battery and time on the system bar and grey them out a little, and disappear others.
