I've just finished the 1.0 README where we ask users to "Use Talkback builds
whenever possible" and also recommend in the installation instructions for users
to use the installer, since it's the easiest way of installing Mozilla. Doesn't
it make sense, then, to make the Talkback builds use the installer? Currently,
at least on Win32, the Talkback build does NOT use the installer. It seems to me
that we should make it as easy as possible for people to use Talkback.
I think it would be really, really good to get this in for 1.0 if possible,
especially given the README.

Let me declare my ignorance: How do users install "Talkback builds" now? What
are the steps?

Hi Curt,
Currently, the method of installing Talkback builds is as follows:
1. Clicking the Talkback build link opens up a dialog asking the user if they
want to open with WinZip, which the user chooses yes to. The source downloads.
2. When the download is finished, WinZip appears. The user must then use WinZip
to extract the source files to a directory of their own choosing.
3. Once extracted, the user must then hunt down the Mozilla.exe file, create
their own shortcuts, and start it themselves.

Sure looks like talkback is in the installer builds to me -- is it broken? Or is
this just a documentation issue?

I'm guessing this is not an installer issue but a webpage--or maybe, as Dan
suggests, a documentation--error? I *believe* the mozilla installer provides
talkback. Apparently we're not pointing the user to the installer? Whose bug
should this be?

If I am right we don't support installer for Mozilla Builds or Kovu is talking
about zipped builds.
My understanding, too, is that we don't support TB in the Moz installer. Shiva,
can you comment on why we don't? Pure logistics? Something contractual? Or some
MPL-ish reasons?

Added URL. At that URL, you see five Win32 builds. Two are installer builds, and
the one that is labeled "talkback" is not one of the installer builds. Setting
up the one that says "talkback" involves unzipping and extracting as I noted
above. I don't understand why talkback isn't built into the installer builds. If
it is, I don't understand why there's a separate Talkback version.

this is a misunderstanding. win32 has a talkback enabled tarball which is just
the contents of dist/bin zipped up and had the talkback bits added to
afterwards. As a Netscaper, I want everyone to just use the installer so I
don't think we should have the talkback enabled tarball, but I've been overruled
by mozilla.org and it's in place so I'm not taking it out. The other platforms
only have talkback in the installer builds and they are in the installer builds
by default so no mention of talkback is needed. This bug is invalid. If the
reporter downloads the mozilla-win32-installer or installer-sea file he will
find talkback included in those installer builds.
