Could we avoid using the preprocessor in newtab.js? Can we directly add the contents of the files newtab.js is including?

:marco, is this still an issue with Activity Stream? The existing newtab code will be deprecated asap, so I am marking bugs against that as 'wontfix' for 57 and 58
