Steps to reproduce:

Tried to delete bookmarks and bookmark folders in Nightly 2017-07-30 by right clicking the bookmark and clicking delete on the pop up menu, or by pressing the "Delete" key in both the bookmarks menu and the "Show all bookmarks" dialog box window.


Actual results:

Nothing, the delete request was ignored .
The bookmark was not deleted.



Expected results:

The bookmark or bookmark folder should be deleted

I didn't update Firefox (still with 2017-07-30), maybe only restarted it, but suddenly I can delete bookmarks again.
However, there is still a problem: deleting large bookmark folders with 100 bookmarks or more takes a long time, more than 20 seconds, in which the browser UI is hanged.

Therefore  I guess the bug with not being able to delete bookmarks is still there, and there is some action or condition that triggers it in certain circumstances.

Try the "Verify Integrity" button in about:support, and consider refreshing you profile if not improved.

Provided Delete works, this is indeed just a dupe of bug 1382966.
So first thing is to clarify if you can delete bookmarks, also note add-ons may break things, so ensure to test with add-ons disabled or in Safe Mode.

I haven't been able to reproduce the "delete ignored" problem again for now, so there is just the slowness problem.
When delete succeeds (slowly), I didn't get anything on the browser console.
