User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0
Build ID: 20170628075643

Steps to reproduce:

I logged into topman.com to browse their sale stuff and clicked 'Shop Size M' to look at clothes in my size.

Actual results:

The M Size page loaded but instead of being a long, scrollable page of all 425 results only 20 items were displayed followed by page numbers. The page numbers took me to a further 20 items but page number beyond page 2 simply pulled up page 2 again. On trying to buy items it simply impossible and I had to change to Edge to make my purchases. This only became an issue fairly recently. (After the upgrade to 54.0.0). I have reported it to Topman several times but nothing had happened since then. NB. Since the upgrade to 54.0.1 Paypal won't work either.

Expected results:

The page should have loaded all 425 results and I should then have been able to choose items and pay for them. None of this was possible and I had to change to the Edge browser.
Can you provide the URL of the page the issue happens?

I don't see page numbers but scrolling to the bottom of the page triggers loading/inserting more results (I guess that's the expected behavior, right?) on Firefox 54.0.1 with clean profile on macOS.

then, if I disable JavaScript, it shows page numbers and surely clicking 3 takes me to page 2.
do you intentionally disable JavaScript? (or are you using some extension that may block JavaScript?)
also, what was the behavior on 54.0 (and Edge)?

then, with JavaScript disabled, clicking "3" takes me to page 2 also on Safari,
so, if your case is also this, it should be the website's issue.
Hi again,

I haven't disabled Javascript - certainly not deliberately. In Safe Mode however the problem is not happening. I've reported this to Topman several times. They were working with a much older version of Firefox. This is the reply they sent when I reported it in June:

Dear Mr Keeping,

Thank you for your patience whilst awaiting my response.

After speaking with our Systems Department they have confirmed the following: any product list page should not give a page number as products should load automatically.

If there is any page numbers then Java Script is not working properly. It can possibly resolve this matter if you were to upgrade your browser.

We have checked two versions of Firefox 50.1.0/51.0.0 and could not replicate the issue that you have highlighted. It may be the case that something is blocking the customer's Java Script to run on these pages.

I do hope that this my email goes to alleviating your concerns.

If there is anything further I can help with, please do not hesitate to contact me by replying to this email address.

Kind Regards

Jordan

I replied pointing out that Firefox was now on 54.0.0 but have heard nothing since.
What should I tell them when I try again?

if the issue doesn't happen on safe mode, it's likely that one of your extension is preventing the JavaScript from working.
(maybe blocked by some extension)
try disabling one by one to see which one is causing it.

then, about the website's support, I'm not sure if they support the case that JavaScript is disabled (these days most website heavily depend on JavaScript) tho,
it might be nice to tell that the page numbers link (that is shown when JavaScript is disabled) is not working properly.

These are the extensions I have, I don't have a "Stylish" setting for Topman so I know it isn't that one. I've tried running a Javscript test (via What's My Browser) and it says Javascript is running ok.
any chance adblock or something is blocking resources?

anyway, you can investigate by following:
  1. disable all of them and restart Firefox
  2. see if the issue happens
3a. if the issue still happens, it might be somewhere else
3b. if the issue doesn't happen
3b-1. enable one of them and restart Firefox
3b-2. see if the issue happens
3b-3a. if the issue doesn't happen, go 3b-1
3b-3b. if the issue happens, the one you've enabled is causing the issue
Many thanks for your help - followed your advice and it was Ghostery that was playing havoc with my Topman shopping experience!!

All the best,
Brian.
thank you for checking and your prompt reply :)
