An experiment shows up in a side-load notice. 
Expected behaviour: It does not show up. As users are not aware of this extension, or don't have expressed any intent to install an extension, this message is very confusing.

We're trying to track this down. Bug 1367823 and Bug 1358907 should have fixed this, but apparently not entirely yet.

Sorry.. As much as I'd like to see this fixed, I'm not able to take this bug in the next month or so due to photon work..

mheubusch apparently saw this warning for a Shield study as well. It was run as an opt-out study on Beta 56 until about a week ago, and then disabled.

mheubusch: When did you see this prompt? Was it recently, or a few weeks ago?

I just saw it today.  Opened beta (56.0b9), saw a notification in the menu, expanded menu and clicked on study message and saw the doorhanger you attached.

I don't think this is specifically a shield bug. I'm not comfortable closing it without more information, but I suspect Felipe can help us out here.

Felipe: the last report of this bug was 4 months ago. Do you think this is still an issue today?

This was definitely happening with Telemetry Experiments, but that is unused and being removed in bug 1415284.

If this is not affecting Shield Studies, I guess we can call it working there. If it happens again we're certain to get new bug reports on this..

As far as I know, I haven't seen this on any Shield studies since the bug report Osmose relayed. I'm going to optimistically close this.
