I have seen this a couple times today. Most recently I produced it by:
1. Ctrl-t to open new tab
2. Tab to search box
3. Type a search and enter
4. Resulting garbled location bar
5. Click on a result
6. Still a garbled location bar (see attachment)

Clicking in the location bar to select the text fixes the garbled output.
