This looks very much like bug 1356902. You find some hints there, maybe bug 1356902 comment #72. Also in the release notes: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/52.2.1/releasenotes/ Those links apply to Windows 7 though. You're on Windows Vista?
