These used to appear as a `SystemExit` exception, however at least for the requests in bug 1387147 [1] it isn't, even after reducing the timeout to 20 seconds in bug 1387487.
I'll see if I can repro locally and if it's not something we're doing, submit a New Relic Python agent bug report.
