User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Build ID: 20170803103124 Steps to reproduce: I updated FF55.0 beta branch to 56.0b1 and restarted the browser Actual results: All my bookmarks stopped showing in Bookmarks Toolbar/Library in FF 56.0b1. History still works and the bookmarks do exist given they populate in the Awesomebar as results. They are just not visible. Downgrading back to FF55.0 returns everything to normal. Curiously folders I use to sort bookmarks remain visible in the Bookmarks Toolbar, but are empty. The Bookmarks Menu folder no longer shows at all in the Library window. Library displays empty windows - no bookmarks or history. The bookmarks menu button that I have in my toolbar shows nothing, not even the folders that are still visible on the toolbar. Expected results: Bookmarks should be displayed after updating to 56.0b1.

Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History
The issue does not reproduce on a new profile created in either FF55.0 or FF56.0b1, by the way. I tried creating new profiles for testing purposes while testing bug #1389070, which coincided with this issue.
The situation has gotten progressively worse in FF56.0b2. In that beta, the browser seems to load an earlier session at startup - not my newest one - and some of the tabs in that session no longer load at all, with blank tab placeholders taking their place.
Running my profile in safe mode on 56.0b2 brings back the library items, but the browser still insists on loading the wrong, incomplete session.

Not sure what fixed this, but it is good that it has gone away. Please file a new bug or re-open if it occurs again
